Today I'm diving into a hands-on review of the Dr. Prepare Promax Lithium Ion Battery and MaxHub Power Charging Station. It’s a powerhouse solution for camping, emergency backups, and off-grid adventures.

For the past few weeks, I've really put this to the test and I'll walk you through the features, the performance, and whether or not it's worth your hard-earned money.

Dr. Prepare emailed me and asked me to review about how this lithium ion battery and power charging station would fit into the RV lifestyle. Since I had already purchased another Dr. Prepare,  I am excited to be able to test this product out for you.

It took about 4 days from the time I ordered it until the time I received it. I'll give you more of the specs later as we get into the actual product review.

Everything comes very neatly packed in a heavy duty cardboard box to protect it.

What comes in the package:

First there's the user guide.

It comes with a metal plate, if you want to more permanently install this in your RV so it doesn't shift around during travel.

Next is the battery. It has two carry straps. It weighs about 25 lbs, and the carry straps make it very easy to move it around.

It is a 100 amp hour lithium ion battery to provide a lot of charging time for things in your RV.

In a separate package, I received the battery charging hub. It clicks right onto the top of the battery. I also received a 12 volt adapter adapter.

Description:

The Dr. Prepare Promax is a two-in-one power station that combines a 12 volt, 100 amp hour LiFePO4 battery with a 1280Wh hour portable solar generator.

The MaxHub recharging power station snaps on to the top of the battery and has a built-in Anderson port with an MP PPT and a USBC port with a maximum output of 100 watts.

Uses:

I feel that this would be a great battery to be able to carry in my car while I'm traveling. If I'm filming and my camera dies, it can be challenging to find power, unless I want to sit there and run my car to charge things. This way I can charge my phone up or my camera and microphone up while I'm traveling. So when I get where I need to go, everything I need for my adventure is charged up.

One of the best things about my RV lifestyle is that I can work from anywhere, especially outside. And this power pack will allow me to do that for extended periods of time, no matter where I am - whether I'm at the campground or at the beach.

I was even able to hook my air compressor up to the battery. I was able to use the inflator, which will allow me to inflate my paddle board wherever I go!

Another thing I was able to do was run the air compressor off the Dr. Prepare battery so that I can check my tire pressure, or even inflate a tire on my RV or car in an emergency.

Being able to Dr. Prepare ProMax battery and MaxHub power station to inflate my paddleboard and RV or car tires make this extremely valuable to me.

What I didn't see was a place to plug a standard plug into, but I was able to use the included 12 volt adapter and plug that into a power inverter I already own. Mine is a 300 watt with a 600 watt maximum outlet, but it allowed me to charge my computer. With my inverter, I can actually plug two plugs into it.

There are times when I'm boondocking that I need to charge things up and I just don't have enough plugs, or I don't want to waste the power from my RV solar batteries, especially if it's raining.

It's nice to know that if the power goes out, I can still charge my computer or run a small light or charge my phone.

How long did the power last without a recharge?

I tried charging my phone, my ipad, and my flashlights for several days, trying to get the battery to go down, and the battery power just wouldn’t go lower.

I finally tried running the power strip that powers the back room of my RV, including a TV, a light and a phone charger. I ran in through the Dr. Prepare ProMax and MaxHub charging station for about 2 hours, with the TV on, and this did bring the charge on the battery down about one bar.

Pros:

Weighing 25 lbs with two carry strap handles, it's still lightweight enough for you to take it with you in your car and use it to charge up multiple electronics at one time, like your phone and your cameras or even an air compressor for your inflatable paddle boards or kayaks.

It has solar charging capabilities.

And it's very quiet, even when you're recharging it.

Cons:

You do have to purchase a wall charger separately, for faster charging of the battery station, although you can charge it with a USB cord.

I would definitely purchase the wall charger.

The other con is that if you want to use this for anything that takes a normal plug, like a refrigerator, a TV, a computer, or even some medical devices - anything that plugs in with a traditional wall outlet, you will need to buy a separate inverter.

Another pro, however, is the price point. Even with adding on the cost of the charger and a separate inverter, this power station is still less than a third of the other 100 watt hour battery charging stations available.

It's great for powering up phones, cameras, lights, CPAP machines and even your computer, tablet, or a TV.

And Dr Prepare was kind enough to allow me to offer you an extra 10% off your purchase with coupon code BATTERY10, just for reading this review.

My Final Verdict:

Overall, I've been really impressed with the Dr Prepare Promax and MaxHub Charging Station.

It's reliable, compact, and for about $162 delivered, it's a great buy. Especially if you want flexibility without going into full-on generator mode.

It's also an affiliate link which means that I will earn a small commission on each sale at no additional cost to you and it really helps me to stay on the road and keep on bringing you more RV life content.
